To call someone a donkey has always been considered a way to tell them they are either ignorant or stupid. Donkeys are extremely obstinate, that’s for sure! They won’t do what you want them to do unless they find it useful. But that doesn’t mean they’re silly animals, quite the opposite! They’re in fact intelligent and thoughtful.
With their sad, sweet gaze – full of wisdom and humility – donkeys will closely follow our activities and actively take part in them.
