One thing is for certain: you’ll never get bored here at “Il passo dell’asino”. You can choose from a number of options, ranging from a donkey hike to a stay at our farm, through educational activities for school and other groups.
Let’s start from donkey hiking. Don’t worry, it’s much easier than it seems!
Hiking with donkeys simply means that you will walk side by side with them. You won’t ride them, but they will definitely carry your luggage. Food, water, tents, and all you need for a one-day or longer hike will be placed on a pack saddle or ‘basto’, exactly like our grand-parents used to do when they went to work with their donkeys and mules, and the ‘basto’ was made of jute and leather bands and usually filled with straw.
